Description
Well, I've finally finished my second deviation!*bows*
Drum roll please...Elizabeth! As played by Cate Blanchett, who's my fave Aussie actress second to Meryl Streep.
Anyway I love the two films by Shekhar Kapur( I'm a teeny little bit more drawn to the first one but yup, I love them both ) because they were very elegant portrayals of such an amazing historical figure. Elizabeth is just about as close to the sacred feminine as a mortal woman could be but the films never glossed over her very human flaws and insecurities and fears. It was a bittersweet story and well, that's pretty much how I like stories.^o^
God, this took me like ages( mostly because I kept stopping and going and redoing stuff, especially the hair...gave me loads of trouble ). I've been practicing hard at portraiture and even more now that I've seen a lot of awesome portrait artists here on DA. I mean, one can't have enough practice at life drawing( I just quoted my aunt--she illustrates novels ) and so on.
Umm, the materials I used would be 6b, 7b, 8b and EE Staedlers, Vellum paper( I'm not in a big hurry to move to canvas just yet^.^), a paper stump, kneaded erasers, a flat sketching pencil and lots of thumbing.^__^
Hope you like it!
